The Canadian Pest Management Association’s (CPMA) mission is to be the leading voice in the structural pest management industry throughout Canada. The Association represents, promotes, and fosters the advancement of the industry nationwide.
The CPMA works to provide an industry voice to legislators and regulatory agencies to assure the industry has efficient and environmentally-responsible tools. The Association also promotes professional and ethical conduct that is based on fairness, respect, and honesty between fellow professionals and customers.
The CPMA actively trains and communicates with industry stakeholders and provides a venue for professional networking to ensure the profession’s continued development.
Those who meet the CPMA’s criteria for membership enjoy a host of benefits. The strong relationship between the CPMA and the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) allows members to reap national and provincial membership benefit such as the Information Central Hotline, which provides members with instant access to NPMA technical and operational experts that can help professionals make more informed decisions on pest-related issues.
In addition, members can access online technical resources, industry updates, membership directories, and promotional material that can help a professional develop their business. The Association also encourages members to take advantage of continuing education opportunities such as training and recertification.
The CPMA encourages all members to adhere to its Code of Ethics. The Code states that all members must consider and recommend the means best suited to a client’s need; render skilled, intelligent, and conscientious service when a contract or service agreement is accepted; not publicly criticize the business or private affairs of a competitor nor make a dishonest or corruptive proposition to an employee or competitor, and remain loyal to the principles of the Association.
