The Interior Designers Association of Saskatchewan (IDAS) is a professional, non-profit organization which represents and regulates interior design practitioners in Saskatchewan. The IDAS administers ‘The Interior Designers Act’ on behalf of the Province and works to promote and enhance the professional standards, regulatory compliance, ethics, and continuing education of its members so that they remain in good standing.
In addition to being a valuable source of industry information for professionals, the IDAS also provides networking and mentoring opportunities, professional development along with advocacy services to uphold the industry’s highest standards. In June 1997, the IDAS earned titles legislation, which protects the title of ‘Interior Designer’; therefore, all practitioners who use the ‘Interior Designer’ designation must have graduated from a recognized college or university interior design program and have seven years’ combined education and work experience. Professionals must also have passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Exam (NCIDQ), the international standards examination for interior designers.
