The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is a non-profit trade association of manufacturers, wholesalers and contractors in the Canadian Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) industry.
The HRAI’s mission is to serve the Canadian HVACR industry through promoting industry development, providing quality customer service through its members, educating industry professionals, and facilitating solutions through a strong national membership.
With over 900 members in the U.S. and Canada, the HRAI has a partnership between three distinct industry divisions: the HRAI Manufacturer’s Division, the Canadian Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Wholesalers (CHRAW) and the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada (HRAC).
As part of the larger mission of the HRAI, the HRAC represents contractor companies who provide products and services to the HVACR market and is dedicated to helping members meet or exceed customer expectations.
Like other divisions of the HRAI, HRAC members must meet strict industry standards before gaining membership. Applicants must demonstrate that they have valid trade qualification certificates, valid provincial and contractor licenses, Workers Compensation Board coverage as well as $2,000,000 in liability insurance coverage as well as the willingness to conform to the HRAC Members’ Code of Ethics.
The HRAI actively promotes enforcing standards across all three of its member divisions, particularly the HRAC Members’ Code of Ethics which instils the need for strict compliance with all laws, regulations, and ordinances that pertain to the HVACR industry. The Code also emphasizes safety, environmental material management, business development, and the importance of superior and ethical customer relations and service.
