Professional Organizers in Canada (POC) was formed in 2000, to serve the rapidly growing community of organizers across Canada. In its first year, POC established itself as a registered non-profit association, created a Code of Ethics, and hosted the first POC conference.
Today, with a membership that numbers over 500 and spans the country, POC provides credibility, community, and connections to professional organizers working in Canada.
POC provides consumers a way to find professionals who can help with organizing assistance at home or in the office. POC also connects companies that provide organizing products and services to its members and interested consumers.
Professional organizers assist clients in all types of organizing including editing possessions, space planning and design, managing paper flow, goal setting and managing time both at home and at work. Clients benefit by saving time, space, and money, reducing stress, and having greater control of their lives.
Professional Organizers in Canada provides training and development for its members through a formal education program, local meetings and a national conference.
POC’s Code of Conduct and Ethics is a set of voluntary principles and guidelines that each member agrees to adopt.
The Code states that each member will provide to a client, truthful and accurate information on professional performance of duties and completion of contracts. If unable to do so, members are obligated under the Code to make every effort to recommend the service of another qualified professional.
The Code also states that other colleagues be treated with the highest standards of professional conduct, and that members protect themselves and clients against fraudulent practices. POC members commit to possess and increase their knowledge and skills so that they are proficient in the services they offer.
Each POC member listed on casaGURU must maintain proper levels of General Liability Insurance and have a registered GST number.
