Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada
The Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada (SAWDAC) works to both educate consumers on what criteria to look for when hiring a contractor and instruct contractors on the demanding procedures and high standards needed to earn and retain their S.A.W.D.A.C Certification.
SAWDAC understands the costs and fears associated with home renovation projects; therefore, it has provided an assurance that all member dealers and contractors will apply high standards to industry products and services, and will abide by ethical business principles.
Member Education and Training
The Association holds business ethics and integrity in high esteem. In fact, roughly half of the renovation contractors that apply for membership in SAWDAC or Renovation Canada each year aren’t even accepted.
To become a SAWDAC member, a contractor or dealer must have been in business for at least three years, carry liability insurance, offer a five-year workmanship guarantee, and have a good credit rating and reputation. Applicants that qualify for membership can access a variety of services, including merchant rates at some financial institutions and fuel suppliers as well as the RenoPlan – renovation loans to help contractors close quotations and fill bigger jobs.

Association Ethics and Standards
SAWDAC members are committed to integrity, honesty, fairness, and responsibility. The Association works to promote such values through its Code of Ethics, which outlines the responsibilities of dealers and contractors when selling, installing, advertising, and communicating with clients. Furthermore, members are encouraged to exchange information with other professionals and are encouraged to research materials and techniques in order to provide continually higher quality products and services.
